21st Century Eggleston
05/02/2010

We are lucky that the studio is near some great galleries in Angel, and not 5 mins from our studio is the Victoria Miro gallery. We're always on the look out for interesting exhibitions to see and we were really pleased to find out that the current exhibition was 21st Century by William Eggleston.

Eggleston is sometimes referred to as the father of colour photography and for monumentalising the everyday. This exhibition is well worth a visit to marvel at his ability to find beauty in such seemingly ordinary scenes. The colours in the pictures are so rich and striking, and his theme of featuring red (even if its only very subtle) is present in many pictures. Some of the pictures are more abstract than usual but are just as striking, one of my favorites being 'Soap on windshield'.

So if you are in the area of N1 get yourself to the gallery, but hurry it ends on 27.02.10
