van Doesburg does it well
15/02/2010

The latest exhibition at the Tate Modern explores the influence van Doesburg had on the early days of graphics, the inspiration he got from DaDa art and how his approach towards art and graphic design helped shape the ideals of the Bauhaus.

With rooms full of typography, logos and editorial design it really reiterated what a craft graphics was back in the early 1900's. Focusing on the importance of composition, structure and grids, the issues of De Stijl explained the early rational for layout, and helped explain the love designers seem to have with putting everything on an angle.

If you have a spare hour on the weekend you should head down and check it out.
